Virginia Teaching Students to Assist (Virginia TSA) Fund PDF Print E-mail

One of the general purposes of Virginia TSA is to assist local chapters and regional associations in the growth and development of TSA.  We are to also provide students with opportunities for the development of leadership in social, civic, school, and community activities. With this being said, this year’s State Service Project is the Virginia TSA Fund.  This philanthropic program will provide funding to schools where an economic need exists. Funding would be provided to approved schools for TSA chapter membership for one school year. During that time the recipient can experience TSA – the leadership opportunities, the competitive events, chapter management and the camaraderie (both for students and teachers).

This is where Virginia TSA comes in. The Virginia TSA Executive Council has set a goal to raise $3,000.00 by Technosphere 2010. These funds will provide a one of a kind opportunity; to establish Virginia TSA Chapters in areas where funding to pay affiliation dues poses a problem. Participation in this fundraising also makes you eligible to apply for the Virginia Community Service Award. All contributions raised from September 2009 to March 2010 will be tallied and counted towards this goal. Please record your fund raising efforts by filling out the form attached. Deadline for submitting your contribution is March 1, 2010. The following awards will be bestowed during the State Conference, depending upon the amount of funds contributed.

 Fund Award Levels:

White Award:     $10- $49 raised

Scarlet Award:   $ 50- $ 99 raised

 Navy Award:      $100- $499 raised
