Regional & State Officer Candidates PDF Print E-mail

Hello Students,

 I wanted to let everyone know that we are accepting applications from students who want to run as a state or regional officer candidate. The application is available on our website-www.VirginiaTSA.org, under Resources, Forms & Applications.

Being a state or regional officer is a life changing event for students. Our officer training is second to none when it comes to assisting these young people in achieving their leadership goals and their full potential.

If you are elected to office,  certain obligations have to be fulfilled. Officers need to be available for the following mandatory events;
- 2 days of delegate training (Friday night - Sunday morning) scheduled for the first weekend in June in Richmond.
- 3 meetings during the term for Executive Council meetings.
- State President has to be available in January for the VACTE conference and Governor's proclamation signing.
- 3 days in April or May for the State Leadership Conference.

      In addition to the above mandatory requirements, Virginia TSA may receive non-mandatory requests for officers attend fall rallies and regional fair competitions as well as some other events.

      Our student officers are a very important part of Virginia TSA and they make a huge difference. It never ceases to amaze me how these students mature and grow in that one year in office. That is all a reflection of the great teachers we have. So I encourage you to apply for this exciting and monumental opportunity to serve as a student leader.

Thank you,

Ms. LaTasha  Watson
